Dead Space Returns With More Dementia

Dead Space’s engineer protagonist Isaac Clarke returns! this time taking players to “The Sprawl”, which is an expansive mining colony.

Isaac is outfitted with a new set of tools that he must use against the alien enemies. “Necromorphs” are the alien creatures from the first game; however, this time around expect to see a new twist on them — spiderlike and even tiny, cherubesque necromorphs. In Dead Space 2, Issac battles dementia as he is thrown into the midst of a huge necromorph invasion. As with the first game in the Dead Space survival series, Issac explores room after room, surrounded by cries and screams. The game’s publisher, EA, promises bigger battles and scarier scares.

“The story of Isaac, the necromorphs and the whole Dead Space fiction has much more to reveal. Dead Space 2 adds another dimension to the complex world and characters that inhabit this universe,” said Executive Producer, Steve Papoutsis. “We were honored and humbled by the response to Dead Space and Dead Space Extraction, and we could not be more excited to add another chapter to the annals of the horror genre.”

The original Dead Space was released in October 2008. Dead Space 2 will be released on January 25, 2011 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

From what we’ve heard from folks who got in on the game’s multiplayer beta, Bizarre Creations’ Blur  has some surprisingly potent addictive properties. That’s why we find this Steam deal so unashamedly sinister: If you pre-order the PC version  of the racing title on the popular digital distribution platform, you’ll get an equally (if not more) addictive game for free: Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.

Blur goes on sale this Tuesday, so if you’re hoping to grab Bizarre’s twin-stick time sink at no charge, you should probably pre-order the game ASAP.

Not one to feed the fanboy flames i usually prefer to keep away from graphical comparisons, but with recent news such as Red Dead Redemption’s graphical differences i felt this post needed to be done.
So lets take a look at the PS3 and 360 screenshots respectively.

Some will instantly argue that the colors for the PS3 are ‘washed out’ like they usually do with multi-platform games, that the transparency method used for the trees in the PS3 version is inferior to the 360 version or that the 360 ground textures are more uniform, but these descrepencies are minor and don’t change the gameplay one bit.

I will however argue that the PS3 version is slightly more crisp, due to it’s resolution of 1280 x 720 with 2x AA compared to the slightly lower 1280 x 672 with 2x AA of the Xbox 360 version.

So what version would i recommend for the person that cares more about having the better looking version than what console it’s on?, Simple.
Get the PC version.
